The Tippmann A-5 is one of the most reliable paintball guns on the market. It’s durable, light, and accurate and can be upgraded from all ends. The A-5 is considered the most customizable gun available today. Making it look like a realistic weapon is no hassle with this paintball gun. The A-5 might be a bit lengthier than most paintball guns but has a comfortable feel with its solid design. The Cyclone feed, which cycles the paint through, does not require batteries to move as it uses the excess air from the gun to move at an amazing 17 Balls Per Second. The gun at stock is semi-automatic, which means no electronics all mechanical. The A-5 is available with the E-grip giving the luxury of shooting full auto, 3 round burst & semi-automatic. This is a great feature to have since you never know what situation you will be in that allows you to up the performance of your gun with a simple button.

How’s the Performance?

Tippmann stands by their paintball guns always promising a durable, consistent setup. Since the A-5 is equipped with the Cyclone, feeding paint through is no problem. Other paintball guns that use standard gravity fed hoppers get jammed and you have to shake your gun to get the balls to drop in the chamber. Not the A-5, the cyclone takes care of the feeding for you by moving every time you fire the gun. This allows for rapid rates of fire without needing an electronic loader and practically guarantees that there will be no missed shots and ball will be in that chamber every time. The Tippmann A-5 will run on both Compressed Air & CO2. Since it has a durable construction CO2 will not take a huge toll on the gears and other internal parts but it is indeed less consistent than Compressed Air. Cold weather reduces the number of shots per tank while using CO2. Where as Compressed air is not affected and will be much more reliable & efficient.

What upgrades are available?

For cosmetic enhancements scenario upgrades such as sight rails, stocks, scenario barrels, magazines clips and many other tactical items are available. For performance enhancements; barrels, bolts, triggers, feed upgrades are available. A great upgrade to start with would be a longer, more accurate barrel. If you are just looking for something that is inexpensive and will get you that distance needed check out the J&J Ceramic Tippmann A-5 Barrel. This barrel 6" longer than the stock barrel which will help with distance and accuracy. Also, the tiny holes on the front part of the barrel will make your shots quieter than using the stock barrel. This is one of our most popular barrels that we carry because of its ceramic coating inside. By having this coating it makes it harder for the paint to stick on the inside of the barrel if you happen to chop a ball. Basically like a self-cleaning mechanism because you can shoot a couple more shots and it will clean itself out. Now if you are looking to take a step further to a more accurate barrel with a long range shot the Tippmann A-5 Flatline Barrel is available. This barrel puts a back spin on your ball which carries the ball 150ft more than a standard barrel. You get what you pay for with this barrel and it is well worth it for scenario/woodsball play that you need that distance to get your target. Let's take a look at an internal upgrade. The TechT Zero Kick Hammer is 50% lighter than the stock hammer giving your gun a dramatic decrease in the kick and a smoother operation making less ware on your gun preventing maintenance headaches! This is a highly recommended part for any Tippmann Gun.
